The Alexander & Buono International String Competition has been designed as an entrée into the world of string instrument performance for those seriously interested in pursuing a professional career. 

The Competition is open to players of Violin, Viola, Cello, and Double Bass from age four to adults, and divided into five categories:

 

 

Carnegie Hall will be the site of the Winners’ Recitals. The 2010 Recital is to be held on Sunday November 21, at 1:30 PM.

Applicants chosen as winners are given their debut performance in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall as the First Prize. Multiple winners will be chosen in each division.

Recitals for Second Prize Winners will be held throughout the 2010-2011 season at other New York City venues, and multiple applicants in each division will be chosen.
